Our mission is to help educate the public on the role of public transportation in Mecosta and Osceola Counties, and the need for passing the millage vote in November, 2006.
The Mecosta Osceola Transit Authority plays a vital role in providing individuals with greater freedom, independence and access to employment, education, health care and shopping opportunities.
The proposed new transit plan would:
- Increase Demand Response Services;
- Improve the local economy by connecting consumers to shopping, entertainment and recreation;
- Improve educational opportunities in our work force by connecting students and workers to education, employment, job training and social service programs;
- Provide equal opportunities in transportation for all people to access regional destinations regardless of age, ability or income;
- Improve the quality of life for all Mecosta and Osceola County residents by connecting people
The position of the Friends of MOTA is that, with the support of a clearly articulated transit plan, developed from the current local survey, the second millage attempt would be successful. With those funds MOTA could continue operations as well as expand and enhance transportation in Mecosta and Osceola Counties.
We are respectfully asking for your support in this effort to further transportation options in Mecosta and Osceola Counties by voting YES in the millage election. |
